Dari pertanyaan itu, saya mulai mencermati perkataan-perkataan orang-orang di sekitar saya mengenai helm. Saya akan coba menjelaskan dengan sebuah kasus:
“Di suatu pagi, salah seorang teman saya, sebut saja namanya Richard hendak pergi ke kampus dari rumahnya. Jarak dari rumahnya sampai kampus cukup jauh, tapi si Richard tidak memakai helm saat mau berangkat. Kemudian ibunya bilang, “Chad, kamu kok ga pake helm? awas ditilang polisi lhooo!!!”
fungsi helm adalah untuk “MELINDUNGI KEPALA” kalau misalkan terjadi benturan/kecelakaan. Perkataan yang si ibu katakan sangat menarik dan membuat saya mengambil kesimpulan bahwa ternyata fungsi helm dewasa ini telah bergeser menjadi, “MELINDUNGI DARI POLISI!!!”
Hal yang aneh kan? bagaimana tanggapan kalian?
ENGLISH VERSION
Have you ever seen people riding motorbike without wearing a helmet? almost everyday I’ve seen thing like that. Sincerely, I was thinking in my mind, “Actually, what is the function of helmet?”
From that question, I began to observe what people around me think about the function of a helmet. and this is what I often hear:
“One morning, one of my friend, just call him Richard. He wanted to go the campus from his house riding his motorbike. The distance between his house and campus is far enough, but he didn’t wear a helmet. Then his mom shouted, “Chad, why didn’t you wear a helmet? you’ll be caught by police!!! Go Get your Helmet!!!!”
The real function of helmet is “PROTECTING THE HEAD”if an accident happened. What the mother said is very interesting and I got a conclusion that the function of the helmet has changed into, “PROTECTING YOU FROM THE POLICE!!”
